Rajkot AIIMS Convocation: The city of Rajkot in Gujarat is set to witness a remarkable moment in the coming days as two major events bring national attention to the region. One highlights the growth of medical education, while the other celebrates spiritual and cultural traditions. The upcoming Rajkot AIIMS Convocation will mark a historic milestone for the prestigious medical institute, and the city will also host a large-scale spiritual gathering organized by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.
Together, these events are expected to transform Rajkot into a focal point of national interest, showcasing both academic excellence and vibrant cultural heritage.
President Droupadi Murmu to Grace Rajkot AIIMS Convocation
The Rajkot AIIMS Convocation will be one of the most significant academic ceremonies in the state this year. India’s President, Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit Rajkot on Monday to attend the event as the chief guest.
According to official plans, the President will arrive at Hirasar Airport at around 3:00 PM. From there, she will travel by helicopter directly to the AIIMS Rajkot campus, where the convocation ceremony will take place.
The event will also be attended by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, adding further prestige to the occasion.
This convocation ceremony holds special importance because it will honor the first graduating batch of students from the institute. During the ceremony, a total of 50 students will receive their MBBS degrees, marking a proud milestone in their medical careers. Out of these graduates, 10 outstanding students will be awarded gold medals in recognition of their academic excellence.
For these young doctors, the Rajkot AIIMS Convocation represents the culmination of years of dedication, rigorous study, and training.
The institute itself is relatively new but has already gained national recognition. The AIIMS Rajkot campus was inaugurated on February 25, 2024, by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The institution was established with the goal of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving medical education in Gujarat and across western India.
The Rajkot AIIMS Convocation is therefore not just a graduation ceremony—it symbolizes the growing strength of medical education and healthcare services in the region.
‘Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav’ to Celebrate Spiritual and Cultural Values
While the academic community celebrates the Rajkot AIIMS Convocation, the city is also preparing for a large spiritual event titled “Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav.”
Organized by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the festival will be held at the Rajkot Racecourse Ground from April 11 to April 17, 2026.
The event began with a grand Pothi Yatra, a traditional religious procession that attracted more than 2,500 women and young girls dressed in traditional attire. Their participation created a vibrant and devotional atmosphere across the city.
One of the main highlights of the festival will be a series of spiritual discourses delivered by internationally known motivational speaker and spiritual guide Apoorvamuni Swami. Over six days, he will share inspirational teachings focused on spirituality, moral values, and personal growth.
Unique Blend of Spirituality and Technology
The organizers have planned the festival on a massive scale. Nearly 400,000 square feet of space has been prepared for the event. The venue includes 50,000 seating arrangements, 1,000 sofas for guests, a massive 40-foot LED screen, and grand entry gates measuring 135 feet in width.
Several attractions have been created to enhance the spiritual experience. These include a 25-foot statue of Nilkanth Varni and replicas of seven traditional Sanatan temples, designed to give visitors a sense of sacred heritage.
A particularly unique feature of the festival will be the use of modern technology and AI-based digital visuals to convey spiritual messages. By combining advanced technology with ancient traditions, the event aims to create an immersive and meaningful experience for visitors.
In addition, children aged 3 to 13 years will perform a daily Parivar Shanti Yagna, a ritual that has already earned recognition in the Guinness World Records.
Grand Closing Ceremony Dedicated to Women
The festival will conclude on April 17 with a special Women’s Day celebration. The closing program will focus on the theme “Lakshman Rekha,” highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, values, and their role in shaping society.
Rajkot Emerges as a National Spotlight City
With the prestigious Rajkot AIIMS Convocation celebrating a major milestone in medical education and the Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav showcasing rich spiritual traditions, Rajkot has become a center of attention across India.
These events reflect the city’s growing prominence as a place where education, culture, and spirituality come together. As dignitaries, students, devotees, and visitors gather for these occasions, Rajkot stands as a shining example of progress balanced with tradition.
