A heartbreaking incident in the Chandkheda area of Ahmedabad, now widely referred to as the “Dosa death ahmedabad” case, has taken a disturbing new turn as investigators uncover evidence that could change the direction of the entire probe. What initially appeared to be a tragic case of food poisoning linked to dosa batter is now being examined under far more serious circumstances.
The case came to light after two young girls from the same family died shortly after allegedly consuming dosa batter prepared at home. At first, authorities suspected that the deaths were caused by food poisoning from the fermented batter used to make dosas. However, new forensic findings have raised alarming questions about what actually happened.
According to investigators, blood samples collected from the girls’ parents — Vimal Prajapati and Bhavna Prajapati — revealed traces of aluminium phosphide, a highly toxic pesticide. The couple had reportedly fallen ill after eating the same dosa batter and were later admitted to a private hospital for treatment. As part of the investigation, police sent their blood samples to the Forensic Science Laboratory for detailed analysis.
The forensic report confirming the presence of the poisonous substance has now intensified the investigation. Authorities are trying to determine whether the same toxin was also present in the bodies of the two children. If confirmed, it could significantly alter the original assumption that the tragedy was simply caused by food contamination.
Investigation Expands Beyond Food Poisoning
With this new evidence, police are no longer limiting the inquiry to food poisoning alone. Investigators are now examining several possibilities, including accidental poisoning, suicide, or even foul play. Sources involved in the probe say it is highly unlikely that dosa batter alone could lead to such a severe and fatal outcome, prompting officials to dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Another key detail has emerged during the investigation. Reports suggest that the children’s father had recently purchased a toxic chemical commonly used to protect stored wheat from pests. This information has become a critical lead for investigators trying to understand how the dangerous substance may have entered the household.
Body Exhumed for Further Examination
Given the seriousness of the Dosa death ahmedabad case, authorities have taken the unusual step of exhuming one of the victims for further forensic examination. On April 7, in the presence of forensic experts, the body of three-month-old Raha was taken out from the burial site for additional testing. The family had originally performed the funeral rites on April 4, but investigators felt a second examination was necessary to establish the exact cause of death.
Police officials say that every possible angle is now being carefully examined. Final conclusions will depend on the upcoming forensic reports and other evidence gathered during the investigation.
As the probe continues, the Dosa death ahmedabad case remains one of the most puzzling and tragic incidents in the city in recent months, leaving the local community shocked and demanding answers.
